Your State and Country needs your services to help stop the unwanted attack against our Freedom.
The 18th Louisiana Infantry Regt. is now accepting those persons interested in War Between the States re-enacting. We portray both a Confederate unit, the 18th Louisiana which was formed here in Louisiana and the 114th NYVI, a Union unit, that was formed in the State of New York and that fought here in Louisiana. We are, though, a Friendly and Family oriented unit. We do strongly encourage wives and children to come and participate with us. All we ask is that everyone (soldiers, ladies and children) dress in period clothing while in camp. We participate in various War Between The States re-enactments, living histories and parades as well as, going into the local schools and doing living history talks.
So, If you want to experience some of what it was like being a solider during the War Between the States ( Civil War ), If you like the smell of fire wood smoke in the morning; If you like to sleep under the stars or in tents; If you like the sounds of cannons and musket fire, If you enjoy studying the War Between The States, or If you are looking for a great family activity that is also a learning experience…... Then YOU are the one we are looking for!!
For a letter of greetings, from our Captain, along with additional paperwork about our unit, you may send your request via yankee mail to: Capt. Corey L. Bonin PO Box 53 Loreaville, LA 70552 or you can send an E-Mail to me, 2nd Sgt. Troy Chandler, at the following address : coh_18thla@yahoo.com
Please include your name, age ( we have a minimum age requirement) address and phone number in your request. THANKS!!!!
